Phantom of the Twilight is a delicious otome set in 19th century London. A gruesome murder has been committed to someone you care about so you set out, with help to find the murderer, maybe also finding romance along the way.
The Story
You play as the main character, Lucy Lindere (you can change the first name), the single heir to the wealthy Lindere family. However your family harbours some dark secrets, as most incredible wealthy families do, in that they are involved in a contract with vampires.
There are three potential suitors to romance with two endings for each, despite the store page showing 4 handsome males. Your not able to romance Felix (at this time). You can also encounter a total of 5 bad endings. The three handsome potentials include;
Charlie (vampire butler) – Bound by a long-standing contract with your family Charlie is your faithful and loyal butler. And he is a vampire. The things I could say about romancing a vampire pretty much write themselves. He is handsome, kind and very dedicated to watching over you. And has a streak of wit about him as well.
Aaron Bailey (Police detective) – Diligent, hard-working and responsible with a passion for seeing justice though. He comes across as cold hearted to you at first as he assumes you’re like all the other socialites but once he realizes you actually cared for your maid as a friend and not just the hired help, he warms up to you.
Harvey Ross (Psychology Professor) – Detached and anti-social, Harvey is also a vampire. He does assist the police from time to time with cases. He refuses to help you at first because he hates Charlie for his own reasons and does not want to help you due to being associated with him. But you don’t let that stop you and you continue to ask for his assistance. Picking the dialogue that is more bold and direct with him is really quite humorous. He eventually comes around and slowly takes down his walls around you.
🌶️ Spice Level – medium. There are light suggestive scenes and it does not show any bits. More sexy in the text than in the images. So erotic but not lewd or graphic. Also some scenes of blood.
Gameplay & Settings
Settings & features include; Display options, text & text window options, audio controls, language, heroine face on or off, and the ability to turn off individual characters voices. There are lots of save files too. Extras include an episode list, an art gallery for the three romances and some common CG scenes, music and movies (cut-scenes).

* DLC is mentioned as coming in the future. I hope also achievements will be too!
* There are 7 chapters in total, the first six is the main story with the seventh the branching romance route (if you did not meet your demise before this point).
The Visuals & Audio
Visually the characters are beautifully illustrated in an anime style common to the genre. I love how the sprites in the dialogue box have facial animations and blink like the main character art. A cute detail.
There are not a lot of ambient sounds, a few here and there like a crowd talking or some footsteps. The background is mostly a piano score and fits in well with the time period that is portrayed.
The voice acting if you chose to keep it turned on is in Korean and very well done. I like to keep the voice acting on regardless of language, I find it more immersive. The English translation for the subtitles is also very fluid with proper grammar and spelling.

Overall Experience
Lumiere Entertainment really has some wonderful writing in how they go about developing the characters. There is a true level of affection between each potential romance and the main character. The main character too is independent, compassionate and kind but is not afraid to ask for help or admit her weaknesses.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and hope they do bring the dlc as hinted at on the main page, I am guessing a route for Felix might be planned as he is shown in all the key art but does not have a fleshed out route in the novel as present.
I have played another game recently by this developer called Vibrant Frame and really enjoyed the artwork and writing in that novel too. I will be keeping my eye on this dev for any future novels they put forth, and in all honesty, I hope it is much more! 💗🩸
