Florence review by Amjara

Florence is a very short but sweet story about finding young romance amidst the struggles of a young woman's everyday, ordinary life.

This little gem was gifted to me by a friend and was a short but sweet game that is like an interactive visual novel. The story itself is not remarkable, it has parts that are familiar to probably anyone who plays it. I know I found myself familiar with aspects of the main character, Florence, and her experiences with the routine, the mundane, first love and hardships.

The game itself revolves around conversations and not so much puzzles. There is no collecting and exploration. You don't have any bearing on the story or its direction, you're more a spectator watching Florence's life and interacting in her actions more than influencing anything. But this is not a negative. You are experiencing her life as she transitions through it.

The artwork is charming, I especially love some of the more romantic scenes depicted of Florence and her boyfriend Krish. I was rooting for them till the end and well the story did have a happy ending of sorts, just not the one I was expecting.

The achievements are all obtainable through one playthrough (just keep note of them as you play to achieve them).
So positives-strong emotional story, great music, and great art style. The negatives are the length and minimalist game play for some if you're more about the action than the story. I would recommend getting this game on sale as a quick, feel good story. ❤️

Thank you to my wonderful friend for such a thoughtful gift.
