Stellar Bewitching review by Amjara

In Stellar Bewitching: Remastered you play a teenage witch with one goal in mind…hooking yourself a boyfriend for Venusia's Day! How hard can that be?

The Story
A free-to-play, turn-based rpg set in the universe of Planet Kardel in Crasper City lives a Farian teenage witch named Elya. Elya has a big problem, Venusia's Day is fast approaching (thee day of love and romance) and she has yet to find a boyfriend. The problem is she told all her friends she has one…oh, the web we weave. So now Elya has no choice but to venture into the Limbo Realm, along with her trusted familiar Floryn to kidnap …uh I mean obtain her an actual boy to pretend he is her boyfriend.

Along the way they recruit a bada** penguin named Pokie. Alright not the most menacing name for a blade-master. You also end up meeting a contender for a possible pretend boyfriend named Ivan, a spirited 17 year old human from the Farseen Tribe on a mission to prove himself and find his destiny.
I really like Floryn, she is a firecracker and flirts like crazy. I love when she's checking out the hobbyist (or wandering salesman)..."I would love to check out your stuff". *wink

Gameplay & Features
Combat in this game is a side-view battle system (turn-based). Inflict weakness on enemies to reduce their shield strength, stun them and then finish them off. The difficulty can be pretty daunting to be honest. It would be nice if this game had a difficulty setting. The only settings in the game are for display options, dash options, battle settings such as animation speed and audio settings.

The game does support controllers but I used keyboard and mouse for my play-through. For the most part the game is played with mainly the mouse only and the keyboard more for changing the quantity of items in the shop (arrow keys).

The Visuals & Audio
Visually the art style is cute. Hand drawn characters set in an old-school style rpg. The soundtrack is also what you'd expect in an old-school rpg. In this setting it works. Synth tunes with a sci-fi pop feel.

Overall Experience
Now I am recommending this game for those who like a challenge because this game is difficult. My biggest gripe with it is that you have no control over the difficulty settings. If you did have any control I would suggest this game for everyone but sadly you don't.

If they honestly changed that one setting it would be a lot more fun for a lot more people. The game has a lot going for it. It is funny, cute and has some story lore built into it. Hopefully the developer takes this gripe to heart for their future games and puts in difficulty settings. 🎮
