Sunlight Scream: University Massacre Review by Francisca
Serial killers always get to the "point" with their victims.
This detective, horror, romance Visual Novel is inspired by both the series R.L. Stein's Goosebumps and Scream, the movie.
The story:
Max returns to Sunlight City, the town he was born in. The town is full of secrets and intrigues. In Sunlight City, Max is starting a new university and hopefully making new friends and finding love. Most importantly, will Max survive? There is a masked killer that is killing students one by one.
Her eye contact is scaring me.
Game mechanics:
A battery icon on your screen gauges the significance of your choices. When it's almost empty, your choices don't matter much. When it's half-full, your decisions become more important, affecting important stuff. If the battery is fully charged, it could lead to a deadly outcome. So, be careful and save strategically.
At least I'll try to protect you. There is a killer on the loose, you know.
Art & Music:
This game looks amazing with beautiful artwork, hand-drawn backgrounds, and captivating sprites. Sometimes, there might be a few language hiccups due to auto-translation. The soundtrack has over 50 awesome songs that perfectly match the spooky visual novel vibe.
Verdict:
This game stands out because it has lots of different endings—some good, some not so good. There are three romantic interests and plenty of dangerous paths to explore, making it fun to play again. Your choices can even change who the killer is. Even though it's reasonably priced, you can tell the developers put a lot of effort and love into it. If you like horror visual novels with lots of choices and endings, this one is a good pick.
