The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Review by Francisca

Many RPG lovers adored The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (or should I say remake). It looks better, runs better, and still retains the joyful, untidy appeal that made it wonderful. The memories hit me hard.

Storyline

The story is still the most important part of the game. You want to stop the Oblivion Gates from destroying the Earth, but there’s a lot more to see and do. There are side objectives, groups like the Dark Brotherhood, and many of little stories that make the world feel real. The NPCs have their own everyday lives, and there are things to find all across Cyrodiil, from bandits to secret caves.

The side quests are what actually made Oblivion fun. You can spend hours doing things like solving murders, assisting thieves, or joining the Mages Guild. People do their own things, and everywhere you walk in Cyrodiil, there’s something fresh to find, like meeting bandits or finding hidden treasure caves.

Your choices are very important and affect both the environment and your character’s story. It matters what groups you join, how you complete your tasks, and who you help. You might be in a tough spot if you join a gang like the Dark Brotherhood or the Thieves Guild. What you do there can affect how people see you and how these groups treat you.

There are times in the game when what you decide really changes the story. You might receive various endings or find new tasks that you wouldn’t have seen if you skipped some characters or did quests in a different method. People will regard you differently and give you a different reputation in Tamriel based on even little choices, like whether you are a tough leader or a caring one. You can always take a new path and watch how the world reacts, which makes each playthrough different.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is both easy and hard. You can explore the immense globe of Tamriel at your own pace. Towns, woodlands, and dungeons are all open for exploration.

Fighting in the game is a lot of fun and is simple to learn. Whatever you prefer, you can play with swords, arrows, or spells. You can engage in close combat, strike from afar with spells, or ambush enemies and murder them covertly. Additionally, you have the option to join other organizations, each with its own goals and incentives. You can see more of the world this way.

You can level up by using your talents, therefore all you need to do to improve your sword skills is to continue using them in combat. This is a natural and pleasant approach to recover.

Ultimately, the game offers you options about how to play. There is always something happening on, and you can be a fighter or a magician, a hero or a villain. The setting seems vibrant and prepared for whatever you decide to do next.

Bugs – The Charm of the Chaos

Now on to my favorite part of this remaster No Oblivion experience would be complete without its (in)famous bugs. Thankfully, Oblivion Remastered has ironed out some of the more game-breaking issues, but the occasional strange glitch is still present. While it’s a little less common to see NPCs moonwalking through walls or horses launching into the sky, those moments of weirdness are part of what makes the game feel alive, in an unpredictable way.

Even the bugs have been remastered.

This means that the stealth/lockpicking bug/exploit is left in (thank you Bethesda).
Head back to the prison and approach the guard at the desk. Ask him if you can visit a prisoner. Once he opens the door for you, step inside the hallway, then speak with the guard again and repeat your request to visit a prisoner. He’ll walk away and close the door behind him, giving you the chance to move freely within the prison. Now, make your way to the prisoner locked behind bars, and use stealth to pickpocket him until you reach 100 (if you have the patience for it). The locked doors in this section are perfect for leveling up your lockpicking skill. Insert the first lockpin correctly into the lock, then repeatedly press the spacebar. This won’t use up any lockpicks, but it will help improve your skill level.

Final Verdict

A game that was previously fantastic is given a new lease on life by Oblivion Remastered, which improves both its appearance and its gameplay without sacrificing any of the game’s original appeal. A number of issues that have been there for a considerable amount of time have been resolved by, which also improves the graphics and makes certain aspects of the gameplay more fluid. On the other hand, it never gives the impression that it is attempting to completely alter the game. Although I fell in love with Oblivion in 2006, it is still my favorite game. Hello, my old fave, and welcome back! My heart is racing again because I’m so taken with this work of art. It’s big, immersive, and full of personality, even if that personality sometimes goes out of bounds. The remaster is a great way to experience Tamriel, whether you’re going back to it for the memories or playing it for the first time.Oblivion Remastered is a fun and deep RPG with some funny bugs that you should play. Oblivion is special because you can expect some surprises now and again.
